What it does

Align timing within the configured range using vocal onsets as the reference, with related breaths following along. After Preview, you can correct only the places that need it instead of leaving everything to the machine.
Balance input-level differences between sources and regions before processing, rather than compressing them. Compression, EQ and saturation can then start with consistent input.

For people who repeatedly make similar cuts, moves and level adjustments when producing cover songs, editing vocals or mixing professionally.
Vocal Prep does not make expressive decisions for you. Analyze generates editing candidates (Proposal), which you review in Preview before using Confirm. It handles bulk processing and makes it easier to identify exceptions and expressive decisions that need human review.

Vocal Prep also works in Capture mode as a regular insert, but ARA Event FX is recommended in Studio One. Check that “ARA” appears at the bottom right of the plugin.
Timing Strength depends on the material. Higher settings may cause clicks at region boundaries for some sources. Stable operation was verified around 30% with the material tested on an actual system, but this is not a fixed setting: use Preview to adjust it for each source.
Depending on your DAW and source arrangement, analysis results may need manual review and correction. See the Features and user guide for supported uses and basic operation.
